iPhone 4s Battery Life | iOS 5.0.1 Update Does Nothing
location:
apple.com - date:
November 11, 2011
Early yesterday afternoon, I downloaded the iOS 5.0.1 update on my iPhone 4s. After installing, I watched my battery drain 10% in 40 minutes while doing nothing on the phone. This update does absolutely nothing for battery life. I am beginning to wonder if this is a hardware issue. A recall on these phones would be bad for Apple. This morning, battery still dropping rapidly. My first iPhone. Very disappointed. At first I thought my phone was defective. I took it back and got a new one. This one does the same exact thing. My wife, my boss and three co-workers are all having the same problem. All have done the iOS 5.0.1 update. It is useless.

Iphone 5 battery life great after ios 6.1.3 update
location:

Hello Folks, Created this thread so that people know that not every iPhone 5 has a bad battery issue. I got the iPhone 5 32 GB Unlocked version last week and i was going through all the forums checking the battery issues people had since updating their iOS version. I saw that a lot of people have issues with their battery which put me on backfoot for upgrading the OS. Then too i took the leap of faith with the thought that it is "Apple!!" a premium brand.. And i am glad i did. Now i know a lot of people had issues with the ios 6.1.3 Upgrade. But for me it was smooth. When i got the phone i was by default on 6.0.2 and battery life was ok. It was les than ATT Galaxy S3 i had before as in they battery used to die in 14-16 hours which was not bad i would say.

iPhone 5: Amazing battery life after 6.1.2 update?
location:
macrumors.com - date:
February 23, 2013
Hey folks!
I was wondering if anyone has been experiencing amazing battery life after the 6.1.2 update. We're talking an estimated 30-40% improvement from before, based on my nonscientific estimates.
I was carrying around a little Zimri Juicepack when I went on all-day adventures around the city, because I'd frequently have to top off a bit near the evening. But since 6.1.2, I haven't topped off using the Zimri once.
I wonder what bug/issue Apple might have worked out to fix this? It's not the Exchange issue, as I don't use Exchange accounts. Either way, I'm happy to see really good battery life now, and I hope it sticks!

My battery life on my iphone 4 has been TERRIBLE since the most recent iOS update!
location:

My battery life on my iphone 4 has been TERRIBLE since the most recent iOS update. Is anyone else experiencing this? At night I use a white noise app, and up to the most recent update, I never was below half battery in the morning. Now my phone is completely dead in the morning. I've noticed it draining faster in general since the update as well, but that particular app was just the best example.

Very bad battery life on iPhone 4S after iOS 5.1.1 update
location:
apple.com - date:
June 10, 2012
I have an iPhone 4S. I bought it with iOS 5.0 on it. Then I upgraded to 5.1, then to 5.1.1. Prior to 5.1.1, I had excellent batery life, just like Apple describes it on its website. Now on 5.1.1, which I just installed 1 week ago, I have absolutely terrible battery life. I get about 3% battery drain per hour on standby. When using it, i get 1% drain every 2-3 minutes, on any app. I have tried restoring it to factory defaults, then restoring it back to my backup, 2 times, yet still no difference. I am not a heavy user. It seems that my problems started right after 5.1.1. Anybody have any solutions to this, or is anybody expriencing the same problem?

My iphone has suddenly become very heavy on power usage, it's no longer even lasting 24hrs without a charge. For the first time yesterday it ran out completely before I had a chance to plug it in, once the power level drops it goes down rapidly, is it the update?

Battery life greatly decreased after ios 5.0.1 update on iPad 2 and iPhone 4S
location:

Really disappointing considering my iPad 2 battery life used to be great, lasting up to a week with no recharge necessary. Now my iPad battery life drops 1% every few minutes of casual use. My iPhone 4S battery life under ios 5.0 used to be decent and could hold the charge well when idle only losing 1% every few hours as long as it was just sleeping. Now I am losing 10 - 15% every few hours when it is just sleeping. When I surf the net, I lose 1% each minute! This is with pretty much every battery wasting feature turned off except Siri. I'm not sure how Apple managed to exacerbate a problem affecting tens of millions of people around the world with a fix that they've had weeks to test. I mean they could've just emailed me and asked me to test it before they released it to the public, I could've told you within a few min
