Enabling iPhone for disk use

I don't think anyone here has picked up on this yet, but did you notice the following in the new iTunes plist:
I seem to remember alot of people wanting to be able to use there iPhone as an external drive.

I was digging through the Localizable.strings in iTunes 8.1 and actually found a bunch of stuff. The disk use stuff goes for iPod touches as well...
Here are the strings:

Enable Disk Use w/ iPhone 4 & iOS 5.1?

Hi All - I have an iPhone 4 that I sync to iTunes (v 10.6). I used to have the ability to "Enable Disk Use". This was an option in the Summary page of the iPhone when synced. I have since updated the OS to 5.1 & I no longer see this option on iTunes when my phone is sync'd via USB cable. Anybody know how to re-enable this? It was helpful to me to download all the photos & videos off my iPhone. Thanks in advance! Robert

1. Are they shareable with another iPhone user once bought or is there a lock on them?
2. Is it possible to sync my iphone with my work Mac as well as my home one?
Right now I have my playlist in my home mac. I want to be able to sync it with my PC laptop and work G5 but I don't want to have to carry another HD. Is it possible with the iphone?
3. how could i use it like my old 4G ipod, as an external HD?
4. is there a way to extract the music from the iphone like Senuti did for the ipod?

hi, a little help please... im looking for a way in which to put the iphone into diskmode. i know apple didnt allow for it, but i know there must be a way/equivalent work around. i have remotenote working to let me put whatever text i need on my phone without any extra programs on the actual comp, and i was wondering if there was a way to do this with other things. for example... i work on picture editing and video editing at school for various projects, and would like a way to easily put them on my phone. its too much of a hassle to email 20 some odd pics to myself, so is it possible? im using macs, and im not allowed to download any software on them....school stuff... so no fugu or the likes. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
