iPhone 5 battery life is way worse than iPhone 4
location:

I just got an iphone 5 and I restored a backup from my iPhone 4 so I have the same settings. But the iphone 5 drains way faster than my two year old very well used iPhone 4 which is running 5.1.1. Is it because of IOS 6? Just leaving it sitting overnight lost about half the battery. My iPhone 4 hardly uses any battery while it sits overnight. Or do I have a bad battery on my new phone?

iPhone 5 Battery Life-Again
location:
macrumors.com - date:

Hi all,
I have one of the first iPhone 5's and I am beginning to wonder if my battery might be a bit of a dud. I am having significantly less battery life than on my 4, and I see many others that have been getting better battery life out of their 5's than I have. I am at 15% right now, and my usage time is 5 hours and 15 minutes, while my standby time is 12 hours and 3 minutes. This s slightly skewed because I plugged the phone in and added about 15-20% during the day today, but even more my point. What does everyone think? We do not yet have LTE where I live, so that hasn't been on. Primary usage has been Twitter, Facebook, web browsing, checking email, sending messages, etc. Automatic brightness is on. What does everyone think?

iPhone 5 Battery Life Improved?
location:
macrumors.com - date:

I just bought an i5 2 days ago. I don't know why people are saying the battery life has been worse than past models.
On my 4S, I would end up having to charge it throughout the day. I would probably end up around 10-30% left at night.
I woke up at 7AM today. I've been using my 5 nonstop. Texting mostly. And trust me, if you have a GF, you will send texts and talk on your phone through the day. Right now, around 830PM. The iPhone is at 73%.
All of my settings are the same. Nothing has changed. And yes, I've had LTE on.
And btw, the phone is amazing. Weight, size, battery life as I mentioned, quick.
Very happy.

iPhone 5 - battery life just improved dramatically - on its own!

I've had my iphone 5 16GB since early December 2012 (week 45 model)
Have always had a consistent battery life and my usage is very similar each day.
I always kept track of my battery life percentage - ie. battery was always around 65% by lunchtime, 40% when I left for home and approx 15-20% when I got home
Everyday it has been exactly the same within a few % points.
All of a sudden... Today - I was at 82% at lunchtime, 64% when I left for home and still 57% when I got home.
As I go to sleep now - my phone is on 35%
I know this sound strange, but too be honest something similar happened a few years back on my Blackberry 9000.
----------------
Any ideas? Has this happened to anyone else?

iPhone 5 battery life less than stellar
location:

Okay, so over the course of the past few months, my battery life has slowly gotten worse and worse. I jailbroke it a few weeks back when evasi0n was released and have downloaded a few tweaks, nothing major. My battery life is continuing to get worse (it was getting worse even before the jailbreak, so I know the JB isn't the problem). So my next step would be to restore, right? Well, there's a bit of an issue... I have a lot of apps that I would HATE to have to manually reinstall and then organize into the folders that I currently have them in, rejailbreak and have to remember what tweaks I had enabled and how they were setup... it'd be a long process.
So, I have some questions. When I restore, can I restore from an iCloud backup or does it need to be a full restore, no backups, nothing? What would be the best way to go about with restoring my phone so that I don't lose my folder configurations, all my apps, music, pictures, etc.?
Thanks!

I just bought an iPhone 5 today and I was wondering why the battery life is not as not anywhere near what Apple advertised, like 100% to 68% in 1-2 hours. I'm running ios 6.1.3. and only 1-2 apps, on wifi. Help?!?

iPhone 5 battery life as a music player
location:

Hey guys, bare with me because I'm getting ready to leave on a long (two month) trip to Europe and haven't had the time to put my phone through the proper tests...so I need some help!
I'm bringing my phone with me to Europe but will keep the cellular service off so I don't roam.
With the cell service and data disabled and the display dimly lit, do you think I can get a solid five hours of music before the battery dies?
I'm new to the iphone and haven't even put my music on it yet, so I honestly have no clue how much the music eats the battery.
I want to leave my ipod nano at home; one less gadget to deal with.
Will the iphone 5 battery last for those long plane and train rides, if everything else is disabled?
Thanks!
