iPhone 4 wont stay connect to Wifi

I have 2 iphone 4 both have the same problem. they wont reconnect to the wifi router even thought the icon on the phone shows that it is connected.I check the router info, it shows that about 1 min of wifi inactivity, the iphone drops connection and wont reconnect. I have to turn the wifi off then on to get connected again. looks like the same issue Jobs had on the keynote stage.
