iPhone 4 Water Damage Indicators
location:

I was going to bring my wives iPhone 4 in to Apple because she is having problems with the external mic when using speaker phone and recording videos. The problem is she dropped it in a sink full of water before I had the chance. She pulled it out of the water in a matter of seconds but the water damage indicators may have been tripped. The phone is actually working fine except for the problem we were already having. The question I have is that I can not seem to see the water damage indicators to see if they were tripped. I believe they are in the headphone jack hole and the dock connector. Does anyone know if there is a trick to seeing them? I was at the Apple store and saw an employee using what looked like a doctors tool for looking in ears and throats. Is the indicator that small? Do you need a black light or something.
Thanks for any help!

Iphone 4 Water damage...now showing "Temperature" screen
location:
modmyi.com - date:
November 4, 2010
Recently, I had tripped into a pool (don't ask), and unfortunately my iPhone 4 was in my pocket at the time... The day after it wasn't turning on so I put it in rice and on day 2 it did turn on and it was seemed like there was still water showing under the screen so I turned it off and put it back in the rice... Now today, day 4, it seems as if the phone is free of pretty much all the water but is still showing me the Temperature screen like it did on day two... And the screen also dims out after about 5 seconds until I press the home button. Can anybody help me please????

iPhone 4 water damage, now overheats?

Hi guys I have a customers phone 4 that has water damage. I cleaned it with 99% alchohol and restored it and everything seems to be working fine. I'm getting Gsm signal and wifi no without a problem. The only thing that is an issues is that the phone overheats easily, mostly on the bottom right of the phone. You can feel it thru the midframe. I changed the dock connecter and same issues occur. sometimes the "overheat" logo shows up and the phone is not usable until it cools down. anybody have a fix for this?

iPhone 4 water damage indicator?

I know there is a water damage indicator in the headphone jack. On the 3GS there was a 2nd indicator located around the 30 pin connector. I cant see one on the iphone 4. I looked through the tear down pictures and couldn't locate it. Unfortunately the reason for asking, a friend took her iPhone 4 into a hot tub. And yes its sitting in a sealed bag of rice for now.

Hello evry one. I hapnd to drop my phone in a milk bowl. I took it out almost immediately. Luckily the both sensors at the bottom and top did not trigger. But my earpiece stopped working. I cannot answer calls as I cant hear voice frm the othr side, its too low. Tried evrything frm increasing volume to slamming it on my hand unless rest of the liquid comes out. So my question is what happens now if I take my phone to apple genius bar???

1. Is there any data left on the phone since I removed the SIM card and has sustained water damage?
2. Is the phone locked or unlocked?

iPhone 4 Water Damage Warranty. HELP!
location:

Hey guys, my daugther dropped her iPhone 4 in the swimming pool (i know right ) I had it dry out for about 3 days now but it's still not turning on. The water sensor inside the headphone jack has a pale pink color, but only on its bottom half... or top half, depending on your perspective. Meanwhile, the one below the dock is 'Snow White' ...does this mean the warranty is not voided since only one of the senors has been activated?
I heard they don't open iPhones at the genius bar. I'm hoping they would reward me with a brand new replacement. My appointment is today.
