Letemsvetemapplem.eu has posted a series of videos providing some direct comparisons between the iPhone 4 and 4th generation iPod Touch. The first one is a
speed boot test between the iPad, iPhone 4, iPod Touch and iPhone 3GS. We're not sure if it shows very much, though the iPad booted the fastest of the bunch.
More interesting is the embedded (above) video showing the differences in the display angles between the iPhone 4 and the 4th generation iPod Touch. While the new iPod Touch does contain a retina display, it

Iphone 4 vs Ipod Touch 4

I just sold my ipod touch 2 and would (obviously) like to replace it.
One of the big things that I wanted was a camera. I only have an slr, and its kind of big. I always miss out on really good shots, and would like a smaller camera. For this reason I'm considering the iphone.
I would get it without a data plan, probably with a bad esn. How would the functionality be with a bad esn? Would it have problems with apps? Would I still be able to get apps from the app store? Would it be slower than an ipod touch? I'm on campus, where I have wifi most of the time, but over summer if i'm out and bored, could I respond to emails from my iphone (and they would send when i got back where there was internet?).
I'm so conflicted on which one i'm going to get. Ipod touch 4, or iphone 4 with a bad esn?

iPod Touch 4 vs. iPhone 4

I accidently ruined my iPod Touch 3g. I'm really bummed cuz it was like my favorite thing in the world. After trying to salvage it with rice, it looks like I'm back to square one.
Okay so I want the iPod Touch 4G. They seem pretty cool. But the iPhone 4 is also calling my name.
Cost is one thing that has me. The iPod is 239$ on the Apple website. According to the website the iPhone 4 is 199$ so just to get the iPhone is cheaper, but I heard the plans are really expensive.
Another thing that makes me lean toward the iPhone is camera quality. I heard it's better on the iPhone.
But the features are mostly the same.
So, what is better- the new iPod Touch 4G or the iPhone 4

iPod Touch 4th gen screen vs iPhone 4

So I've been using my iPhone 4 on Verizon since Feb 9th. I haven't even turned on my iPod touch since then, but a funny thing happened today. I realized that I needed to charge my ipod, so I hooked it up and let it charge. I then unlocked it and was stunned to see a noticeably better looking screen than my iphone4. I've made every adjustment I can think of to make the settings exact. The iPhone just has a more "hazy" not-as-clear screen than the iPod. Whats the deal? Anyone else notice the same thing? I was under the impression they are using almost exact hardware, other than the IPS not being as good (if existent at all) on the iPod.
Any thoughts out there?

iPod Touch 5G vs. iPhone 4?

Hello, if anyone would like to give any opinions or some insight on this topic, I'd appreciate it. I've got a choice between an iPod Touch 5G and an iPhone 4. Currently I've got an android phone on Virgin Mobile. My phone's a bit wonky here and there, though it still does the job a phone should. But there are a lot of iTunes-only games that I'd actually like to play, which kind of made me want to try out an iPhone, but the 4 is the best I can do at the moment.
I'm really most interested in the games, which makes me think maybe I should just get the 5G, as it's a bit cheaper and I like the way it looks, but I don't know, is it better than an iPhone 4 would be?
I've got a few pros and cons.
5G
Pros- more space, looks nice, I guess it'll run games faster, cheaper
Cons- I'll be carrying an additional device around along with my phone, ba

3rd & 4th Gen iPod Touch charging vs iPhone 4 charging?
location:

This bugs me so much, I've searched, and I've never been able to get a definite answer, not even from Apple.
What is the difference between the way a 3rd & 4th Gen iPod touch charges vs an iPhone 4? All the 6 foot cables I have ever purchased will charge my iPhone 4 fine, but not our 3rd Gen & 4th Gen iPod Touches. With the iPods we get the 'Charging not supported with this accessory". I've bought 6 foot cables on Ebay and at our local Fry's Electronics. Always the same deal, they charge my iPhone 4, but not the iPod Touches.
If it matters, prob not, my iPhone is running 5.1, one iPod is running 5.1, the others different versions of 4.X.
We have one 2nd Gen iPod Touch for my yougest child, and that one does charge well with every cable I've purchased.
I mainly just want to know why. I realize these longer cables are aftermarket cables, but I really want to know if there are differences in the devices' hardware.
