verizon iphone 4 upgrade 4.2.8 to 5.1.1 question

Hi all - what's the best method to upgrade? I have all the blobs saved. I am on 4.2.8 with Verizon iphone 4. I have a backup saved in itunes and everything is synced. Is the best method to do a restore inside itunes with 5.1.1 firmware and then run redsn0w to jailbreak it?
I have a bunch of photos on the camera roll, was wondering if those would be sync back to the camera roll afterwards. I do have a full backup of all photos saved already. Thanks.

iPhone 4 upgrade price question
location:

OK, so currently I do not qualify for a full early upgrade on the iPhone since I do not currently have an iPhone. I keep doing the *639# thing and it comes back I can get a discounted rate but not the full early discount, which would be $399/$499. My question is, do any of you remember if last year they caved and let us non-iPhone folks get the full early upgrade for the new iPhones? Don't know if I should wait it out or just go ahead and pre-order it at the extra price.

Sprint Upgrade Question on iPhone 4
location:
imore.com - date:

OK, I was about to order an iPhone off the Apple site when I noticed it said it gave you onscreen instructions to activate which would deactivate you previous phone. I am a Sprint Premier customer, and a WebOS user, and gave my upgrade that I would have lost earlier in the year due to Sprint cannibalizing the Premier program to my daughter. When the phone came in, I simply clicked on the activate new phone line on her line instead of mine and it worked fine and I kept using my Pre. Now my daughters line is available for her upgrade so I planned to use it to get the iPhone for myself. However I just talked to someone on Sprints website and they said it can't be done, the new phone has to go on her line. I intially thought this was just BS, but now am wondering if there is some system in place now that will prevent it from being upgraded on my line as opposed to hers?
Sorry if this is a newbish question, I just want to make sure I can use it!

Question on Transfering Upgrade for iPhone 4
location:
imore.com - date:
January 22, 2011
Hello, I am a Verizon customer and I'm currently on a family share plan. My line isn't eligible for an upgrade, but my uncle's is and he said I could use his upgrade for it. Right now, Verizon reps have said that you won't have the option to transfer an upgrade to another line and order the iPhone like you usually can. For whatever reason, they decided that won't be available until a later time. I was told that you would have to order the iPhone on the eligible line and then manually change the MEID (Mobile Equipment Identifier) over to the MDN (Mobile Directory Number) on which device you want.
Does anyone know how this process works? My uncle lives in another state, so I am hoping I won't need his current phone or his help doing this at all. I am hoping this method won't affect his current phone at all.
