Advice needed: iPhone 4, unlock, jailbreak 4.2.1 03.10.01
location:
macrumors.com - date:
March 8, 2011
I've been contemplating to jailbreak for years but have delayed it. Among with other things, I wanted all the new features right-away whenever Apple releases OS upgrades.
After years of owning iPhones, my excitement for the incremental upgrades and apps have really waned. I think now is the perfect time for me to jailbreak.
What advice can you give me? I'm traveling in June and would need to unlock it by then but not now. From my research, they say to wait for the 4.3 release and they will release the unlock for the 03.10.01 baseband a few weeks after.
I just bought a used iPad 1 for a reasonable price and I'm excited to use MyWi on it as well as my MBA. Can I jailbreak now and unlock later?

iPhone 4 Unlock Release in 48 Hours
location:
modmyi.com - date:
August 1, 2010
I chatted with David Wang today, aka planetbeing, and he let me know he's doing a 48 hour test period from now, and then will release the unlock.
The iPhone 4 unlock is
already working and remains in testing. Planetbeing and MuscleNerd have been testing it a while, and it's nearly perfect - but needs a couple days for some finishing touches. With the jailbreak being released just now, I figured an unlock status update would quench a thousand threads from starting.
Cody has been in Scotland for a couple weeks, and is also testing the iPhone 4 unlock with O2 and various carriers in Europe. So far it's been smooth and working just like how it should - without you

iPhone 4 unlock possible?
location:
macrumors.com - date:
March 27, 2012
Hi guys,
I'm new to the forum (and apple to be totally honest).
The only apple products that I have every bought were a nano a number of years ago, iPad 1 and the new iPad.
Never needed to jailbreak or unlock any of those devices for my uses.
However, I my uncle bought a used iPhone 4 iOS 5.0.1 and he is driving me crazy to have it unlocked so that he can use it in Denmark.
I did a number of searchs here and on the web as well as asked friends and the answers are all over the place. Some say it cannot be done, other that it can partially be done, and other say it can be done no problem.
I don't Redsn0w or things of that nature.
For now, just need to know if it's possible.
Thanks

AT&T iPhone 4 unlock
location:
macrumors.com - date:
October 16, 2011
With all the talk about unsubsidized iPhone 4s' being unlocked via iTunes, I decided to call AT&T one more time and request them to unlock my iPhone 4. For the first time I heard a different response from the AT&T CS rep today. Instead of the usual BS that AT&T will not unlock iPhones period, I was told that AT&T did not have the means to unlock iPhones and that I would have to be transferred to Apple's CS to request my phone to be unlocked. I thanked her and requested to be transferred to Apple's CS but I wasn't surprised that they were closed at 11:55 PM CDT.
I'm going to try requesting Apple for the unlock tomorrow but I'm not sure if this is a sign that things may have changed at AT&T regarding unlocking iPhones or if they have just come up with a new reason to stave off customers that are requesting iPhone unlocks.

iPhone 4 Unlock time
location:
apple.com - date:
March 28, 2013
Hi, just over a month ago my iphone 4 contract ran out and i decided to change networks and upgrade to the iphone 5. As i wanted to unlock my old iphone 4 i requested an unlock and received a conformation email from vodafone that this had been completed. 3 weeks later the iPhone is still locked so tried to chase it up however they told me they it was apple taking a long time as they had passed on the request. So just to check I am 'unlocking' in the correct way this is what ive done, restored phone, insterted new sim, then run through the activation process on the phone where it comes up telling me "Only compatible SIM cards from a supported Carrier may be used to activate iPhone.". As its now been over a month i just wanted to know whether it normally take this long and if not what I should do now.

Anyone come across this before?
Thanks!

This site claims they have unlock software for sale.
Only thing that bugs me is they don't take paypal, so sounds suspicious?

Anyone tried them before, are they real?

AT&T iPhone 4 unlock without the original AT&T sim: possible?
location:
apple.com - date:
January 25, 2013
Hi, I have an AT&T iPhone 4 that is eligible to unlock via the code they send you via email. However, my iPhone does not have the AT&T sim card it was originally equipped with, no will I be able to get it back. I already restored the phone (via the phone's "reset all settings and content" option in the settings app) and now I'm running into a problem where I can't get past the activation screen in the iPhone set up with (or without) my new European sim card. I'm worried that the AT&T unlock will now become impossible. The phone was never hacked, previously unlocked or jailbroken. Does anyone have any experience with a problem like this? Please, any help will be tremendously appreciated.

Orange UK Iphone 4 Unlock?
location:
macrumors.com - date:
May 26, 2011
I have a used iPhone 4 locked to Orange UK. Am currently using my Orange contract sim (unofficially).
I would like to know how I can get it unlocked?
As far as I know Orange wont unlock 2nd hand iPhones as they are registered to someone else.
I purchased it from Computer Exchange, so am unable to trace the previous owner.
Would be great if I can get it unlocked.
Thanks.
