iPhone 4 touch screen super sensitive during calls!

I've had my iPhone since 11:30am 23 June and I've not really had any calls longer than a couple minutes.
I just now had a phone call that was about 20 minutes. Well it was actually MULTIPLE calls with the same person.
The touch screen is so freaking sensitive that I was repeatedly hitting the end call, mute, face time, and even was able to switch over to the keypad and hit tons of numbers during teh call.
The sad thing is was I was actually trying to keep the phone away from my face! I NEVER had this problem with my EDGE or 3G. It's almost like it's hyper sensitive.
Now I know the comment is "keep it off your face" well I tried but I think it's inevitable. Regardless, I used to rub my face all over my EDGE and 3G phones and never had such issues. I remember having the phone covered in grease from my face (nasty I know oh well) multiple times from complete touchings and never accidently hit any touch buttons during c
