So....as of last night, my wife and I became iPhone 4 owners...we finally drank the Kool-Aid! When we went to the Apple Store a couple of weeks ago they were out, so we put our names on the wait list. We got e-mails a week ago from Thursday informing us they were in, but we were on vacation. I called the Apple Store and asked if they could hold them for a week for us because we were out, they said sure. When we went there last night, one of the reps at the Apple Store said, "Well, I'll check, but I know we sold out and I didn't see any more in the back." He came back and said sorry, nope, nothing there, and he asked us again what happened. I told him the rep's name, when I called and was told they'd hold the phones for us, what our e-mail addresses are...he said "Let me check one more time."
