iPhone 4 Jailbroken 5.0.1, need to go to Apple Store for swap - easiest/most painless??
- date: January 28, 2012
I have a jailbroken Verizon iPhone 4 on 5.0.1. The power button is stuck so I need to go to the Apple Store and have it swapped out. What's the most painless way for me to get my new one up, jailbroken, and running?
I'm assuming I want to sync and/or backup in iTunes. Is there a difference between the two? Since I'm expecting them to swap the actual device, I don't think I need to do anything in Tiny Umbrella.
To get the phone back to factory, I will just do a plain restore in iTunes, correct?
What about everything I've done in Cydia? Is there an easy way to restore that once I JB the replacement phone?
So, my basic plan is to sync/backup in iTunes, restore to factory, go to Apple Store for swap, restore new iPhone with latest iTunes sync, jailbreak, restore Cydia tweaks and packages (manually?).
I'm coming from Android so I'm starting to see the value in something like Nandroid. I guess there is nothing similar for iOS?
