iOS 7: 8 Months Later

iOS 7 has been a roller coaster for me. At first, I loved the design. Then, I hated it and wanted to revert back to iOS 6. Like a fine wine, I gave it time. I let it set in. Then I loved it (mostly).
iOS 7 is crisp, clean, well designed and, in some cases, beautiful. Sure we can argue about ugly icons, and Jony's interest in white....oh so much white. The fact of the matter is Jony modernized the UI and created a starting point to improve the OS for future releases.
Today I went into TMobile, as I am switching to their service very soon. I was intrigued with Android, as they have larger, better screens. To my amazement, Android is a turd. In every sense, a turd. This debate can go on forever, but it's amazing how unresponsive Android feels compared to iOS.
iOS users complain about the "shift" button. Here's a shot of the convoluted LG G2 Android keyboard:

Will iOS 7 and 7.1 be compatible with the iPad 3? What about iOS 8+
location:
macrumors.com - date:
January 13, 2013
I got a iPad 3 White WiFi with 64GB of internal storage for just $499 new (there was a special deal going on in retail stores only), and I was wondering if I will be able to get iOS 7 or 7.1 on it when it comes out. Most people have said that they would be very surprised if it didn't, but I'm just wondering.
However, I have a feeling it won't be compatible with iOS 8 and up which is not bad; I mean iOS 6.0.1 is already great, and iOS 7 is probably going to be awesome, so there's no reason I should be upset actually if either of those don't come out, but it's just out of curiosity.

Apple's iOS 7 Adoption Nears 90% for iPhone, 85% for iPad ahead of iOS 8 Announcement

With three days to go until Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off, Chitika’s analytics arm, Chitika Insights, found iOS 7 adoption rose to new levels in the US and Canada as with iPhone and iPad users continue to upgrade ahead of an expected iOS 8 announcement. According to the latest statistics from the analytics firm, 89.7% of iPhone web traffic in North America is being generated by handsets running some version of iOS 7. For iPads, the number is a bit lower at 84.8% of the whole, but the tablet-owning audience exhibited more growth over the past three months.
Compared to the firm’s last study in February, 83.3% of iPhone owners were running iOS 7, meaning that number rose 5.4 points over the past quarter ending in May. iPad users moved from 78.5% to 84.8% during the same period, representing a 6.3% increase.
Chitika notes that the lead up to la

iPad Mini with iOS 7 or 8... paperweight or future proof?
location:
macrumors.com - date:
November 10, 2012
I had the original iPad (first gen).
It was great.... until iOS upgrades. Then, like most, it became slow as molasses and crashed often. Prob due to the paltry RAM.
So I love the iPad mini form factor, and quite honestly, it seemed to be almost as fast as the iPad 4 for surfing, iPhoto, pictures.
BUT- is the iPad mini future proof? I'm not looking for 5 years. But will the chip and RAM (basically what is in the iPad 2) be supported in one or two years, OR is iOS 7 or 8 destined to make this thing a (very very light) paperweight?
