iOS 7 drains battery too fast on 4S
location:
macrumors.com - date:
September 19, 2013
I did a clean install of iOS 7 on my 4S and barely installed any apps.
I have just been using iMessage via Wifi for a while and I realized that the battery was drained way too fast. The battery life was very nice when I was using iOS 6.
Other than batter life problem, everything seems fine so far. My 4S is not slow at all like what I expected.
Does anybody also have battery life problem when using iOS 7 on 4S?

iOS 7.1 battery drain iPhone 4S
location:
macrumors.com - date:
March 12, 2014
While the performance increase on iOS 7.1 appears genuine - I'm experiencing serious battery drain on my iPhone 4S (64GB model).
I have parallax disabled as well as background app refresh disabled.
I updated from iOS 7.06 to 7.1 via USB cable attached to my Mac Pro and the latest version of iTunes running on Mavericks latest version as well. I had closed all apps and done a reset before connecting to iTunes where I did a backup and sync prior to updating.
The drain I'm experiencing is during usage, not standby as much. When I use my standard apps (mail, safari, txt, etc.) I'm seeing the battery drain about 1% per minute. I'm not using GPS or bluetooth.
I followed one suggested on Apple Forums to drain battery to about 40%, then do another hard reset. Doesn't seem to help.
Anyone know of similar issues or what to try next?

Iphone 4s ios 7 battery issues
location:
apple.com - date:

I posted this question in the basics forum, but it probably belongs here: Since installing iOS 7 on my iPhone 4s, the battery life seems to be significantly reduced, at least judging by how quickly my battery life percentage meter keeps dropping. I've gone through and turned off all sorts of settings, like location services on most everything, etc. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue? Anyone know of any fixes?

iPhone 4s upgraded to iOS 7, battery reading incorrect and shuts down early
location:
apple.com - date:
November 21, 2013
Hello. I had no problems until upgrading to ios 7 recently. Pretty frequently I get the notice about 10% or 20% battery left, and I see phone is often below 5% battery even though it seems there should be more juice left. When I plug it in for a second, the percentage jumps up by anywhere from 10-60% up to the correct level. If I don't plug it in, it dies until it's charged again. And when I charge it to reboot, it reboots at a high percent of battery. This is a huge inconvenience if I'm away from a charger for a few hours since the phone won't turn back on, because it thinks it has no battery left when it actually does. Any ideas on what to do? The most recent software update didn't help, and I've done the hard reset plenty of times to no success. I've also closed all apps to try and isolate the cause of the program but have not fi

iOS 7 kills 4S battery
location:
apple.com - date:

I updated to iOS 7 last night on my 4S. Now, I have Push/Location/Bluetooth/Wi-fi/Siri/Background tasks completely turned off, yet I'm loosing 1% of battery *every minute* and the phone is really hot (even if it's sitting idle with screen turned off next to me on my desk). This litteraly means 100 minutes of battery life! Battery life was already lousy with 6.1.3, and now it's even worse. And here I was thinking iOS 7 would fix this. What's the point of having a smart phone is you have to turn off 90% of the features to squeeze out just a few hours of battery life? Aside from the obvious wiping/install as new phone, what can I do?

iOS 7 Update on 4s - Phone gets Super HOT, Battery Drains in 4 hrs, AppleCare knows
location:

Wow!
(Of Note: I called Apple Care, and the tech told me to do everything listed below though I had already read it online, then she said that there have been Numerous calls about the device OverHeating (its like Starbucks coffee HOT) but that until "something" happens they are just logging the complaints and if you turn off the items listed below there should not be the constant drain on the system and battery. So I asked her to clarify what 'something' meant? Does it have to catch fire or blow up before they go public and let people know that the iOS7 update is running REALLY HOT! oh well - I knew I should have waited for 7.1 - but my finger was just itching and I had no self-control).
iPHONE BURNING UP - RUNNING REAL HOT!!!
So I took the bait and updated my iPhone 4s (64gb) to iOS 7 yesterday
(9/23/2013). Updated via WiFi - no problem, took about 20 minutes. When it was done I picked it up and it was SUP

iOS 7 battery issue on 4s?
location:
macrumors.com - date:
August 1, 2013
So i know with the latest beta update it fixed a lot of your battery problems. Mine however is the same on my iphone. For some reason My battery will drain pretty fast. But this isn't the big issue. It is that my phone will jump from lets say 70% down to 1%(I literally see it just drop magically) and then dies.
Once it dies i cant turn it on until i plug in a charger which it then turns on back to the 70%. I went back to 6.1.3 last night and then back to beta 4 this morning. Im still having the same issue though. I am gonna just stick to 6. I check the usuge time and it usually says 1 hour only lol. i just want to know if anyone else has had this issue.
Sorry for the long post but thanks to those who took the time to read haha

How I fixed my iPhone 4S (iOS 7.x.x) WiFi - Bluetooth and battery problems
location:
apple.com - date:

Like many other iPhone users I have also now carried out the " heat it up with a hairdryer-cool it down in a freezer" fix and it really does work! IT PERFECTLY FIXED! my wifi, my Bluetooth and battery drain problems. Phone even runs faster now. I was totally sceptical that it would work, but having an iPhone 4S running on iOS 7.0.4 software that would only work for about 8 hours on standby before the battery was completely flat, and no wifi or Bluetooth ,I thought what have I got to loose by giving it a go? It WILL fix your greyed out WiFi button. It will also fix any Bluetooth connection problems, It FIXES Battery life problems and will e
