Discovery: POOF coupled with iOS7.1 (beta)

I was playing around with my iP5, looking for a way to hide/delete a few of the stock apps I never use (really, have not used all the way back to the iPhone2G!).
I downloaded POOF and proceeded to hide those apps. POOF also allows you to hide the app itself. I did so.
Upon a respring I was brought back to screens that showed the apps hidden.
So far, so good!
On a hunch I went into Cydia and deleted ilibhide along with POOF. The app/tweak was now gone. The hidden apps also forever gone.
I tried this method on an iPhone5c with 7.0.4 loaded and although POOF worked as expected, a hard reset brought back the hidden icons.
So, at the end of this I learned, if you want to permanently delete certain stock apps and you're on a 7.1 beta this would be one way to go.
I'd imagine a fresh restore would bring it all back, but in my case, as the beta is no longer signed, I am 'stuck' with the missing
