App Store Crashes upon attempting install of app on jailbroken iPhone 4 (OS 4.0.1)
location:

Any idea why when I try to install an app from the App Store on my jailbroken iPhone 4 (iOS 4.0.1) it immediately crashes the app store and refuses to even begin the installation of the app???
I can browse the app store on my phone, I can view screenshots of apps and read reviews, and I can even click the Buy/Install button, but as soon as I enter the last character of my iTunes Store password and press 'Enter' it automatically crashes and promptly brings me back to my homescreen without installing the app???
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

App Store apps won't completely update on jailbroken iPhone 5
location:

Hi, I'm a noob to jailbreaking and wanted to know how can I completely update Apple App Store apps on my iPhone 5. Every time I try to update the progress bar get almost to the end of installing and stops and it says it can't download right now. Some of my most important "regular apps get stuck at this process and it would be difficult to replace info in some of the apps like my PDFs in iBooks. Can I update without plugging into a computer because that isn't a option.

Changing App Icons for jailbroken iPhone
location:
macrumors.com - date:
September 2, 2012
Hey people! Please help me out here!
I have several questions..
Themes usually have app icons that come together with them, but...
1. there are some icons that I would like to change. How can I go about doing this? I have WinSCP & DiskAid downloaded, but I have no idea how I can change the app icons.
2. some themes do not have icons for certain apps. Is there any way I can 'create' an icon for that app in that theme?
3. Where would be a good site to get app icons?
Thank you!!

Jailbroken iPhone users getting locked out of the App Store

The number of apps saying, "This Application Does Not Support Jailbroken Devices" is on the rise. You're just browsing the app store, downloading apps from iTunes and only after you've downloaded the app, you receive this message. Skype does this.
The most recent app being Swamp People, by A&E Television Network. I'm just going to be blunt: I strongly disagree, that developers should be doing that. It's our iPhone and we can do whatever we want with them. You don't get error messages on Windows saying "We do not support computers with dual booted systems or we do not support your modded PC."
I think it's a very dumb decision for developers to make, because the majority of people who use iPhones have them Jailbroken, so that's them losing money and popularity (for the sake of?)
I mean, I probably would have deleted the app after 5 minutes, but now it doesn't even get a chance. I give great reviews. Not only that, b

How to change app icons on a jailbroken iphone...
location:
macrumors.com - date:

Ok, I am slightly a noob when it comes to this stuff but I have so far figured out by myself how to j/b my 3GS, how to use Cydia, install winterboard, search cydia to find and try out all kinds of crazy themes, ect. so I am pretty good at figuring this stuff out. My question is when I download some of the themes, they say it comes with 250+ or 1000+ icons but I cannot figure out how to sort through these individual icons and assign them to a certain app. Do I have to use openssh or diskaid and go into the file system of the iphone and change things around? I have checked sites such as hackthatiphone and hackulo.us but cannot find a good tutorial on this. Can you guys help me out or point me in the right direction of a good tut? Thanks!!!

test an app on a Jailbroken iPhone
location:

Hello,
is there a way to compile and install (on a Jailbroken iPhone) an app without the Apple's Developer certificate ? The iPhone simulator is fine but I need the accelerometer.
I googled for that but the tutorials I found seem to be outdated and not working for iOS 4.x
I'm willing to pay $99 for the developer license but since it lasts only 1 year I'd like to do it only when my app is in an advanced state.
Edit: I found
this guide which seems to be recent. I try it and report back.
cheers,
tex

Photo app crashes jailbroken iphone in iOS 5.0.1
location:
modmyi.com - date:

Not quite sure where to post this. I updated my iOS from jailbroken 4.3.3 to 5.0.1 today and used the untethered redsn0w to jailbreak it. Went well, took about 2 hours in total for my iP4, 32 GB unlocked at factory phone.
However, in "testing" all the apps out later....found that the photos app crashed the phone and mobile substrate put it into "safe mode". Ran "crash reporter" but it give SO much information, hard to tell what went wrong. So...I uninstalled the ONE cydia app that was related to the camera/photo app..."STEALTH CAM" and voila...this was the problem. Apparently it isn't compatible with iOS 5.0.1
So, if anyone has this issue...here you go...take off stealth cam

None of our apps (more than 60 now) will run successfully on jail broken devices and revenue is up significantly. It was well worth the effort for us. To be fair, I'd like to know what those problems were. If it's something like saying it crashes, that's too generic. Were there memory access issues? We
