Weather App/Home button problems.
location:
macrumors.com - date:

First of all, is anyone else's weather app not updating the live weather? In my current city when I swipe notifications, it's cloudy at 64. On the weather app, it's sunny and 73, and the red notification bubble is 76. Is there anyway to fix this so the weather app updates to the current weather and I'm not always swiping down notifications to see what the weather is?
Also, when I move apps, then try to press the home button to stabilize the screen, the home button never works. Apps still have the animation like they do when you try to move them. I have to press the top button to go back to the lock screen. The home button works fine, it's only after I try to move apps. I figure this is more likely a bug, but I wanted to know if anyone else is experiencing this as well.
Also, I am not jail-broken, in case that helps.

iPhone 3G Home Button broken - App? Jailbreak? What??
location:
macrumors.com - date:
July 2, 2010
Hi so I have a 2 year old iPhone 3G. It's pretty banged up. I've dropped it so many times and now the Home Button finally gave.
I've already restarted my phone and reinstalled everything. I've also tried banging my phone on the wall in the same way that i dropped it, but neither did anything.
I have ordered the iPhone 4 but that won't be delivered till later this month. In the mean time I was wondering if there was an App that could work as
I've heard of iHome and mQuickDo, but they don't seem to be on the list of apps anymore. I'm guessing they got suspended by Apple or something...
Is there any App I could use for the regular 3G OS or do could I Jail break it to use this? (I've never jail broken my phone before)
Thanks

Can I invoke the app switcher without home button?
location:
macrumors.com - date:
August 18, 2011
Like many people, the home button on my iPhone 4 is intermittently rubbish. Its lost most of its clickiness, and its pretty squishy. I often have to mash it to do anything.
I was hoping there was another way I could invoke the app switcher bar, that appears at the bottom of the screen, without having to double click the home button. Perhaps theres an SBSettings hack to do this? My iPhone is jailbroken, so if theres something available via Cydia, let me know.
I looked into enabling the multitouch gestures to switch apps etc, but as far as I can tell, theres no way to enable it for my iPhone 4 which is running 4.3.3
Any help would be appreciated.

Every now and then my iphone 4 will freeze inside an app, and I can't get back to the home screen.
I have to respring my phone or restart it...
Would love a simple Home Button App, where it would take me right back home without a reset/respring.
Anyone know of one?
Thanks!

An app to act as a 'home button'?
location:
modmyi.com - date:
February 2, 2009
Well my home button now does not work at all. So is there an app that will act as a home/back button? It would be on top of everything so it can be used instead of the home button itself...
I looked and found 'clickonce' app that does that, but i cant seem to download it as the source on installer/cydia does not work.
can anybody help me out?
i have an iphone 1st gen 2.2 firmware

iPhone 5 Home Button Won't Get App Icons To Stop Wiggling
location:
macrumors.com - date:
September 27, 2012
When I attempt to get out of wiggling app icon mode, the home button doesn't do it like it did on my i4 on 5.1.1. I have to hold the button down which invokes Siri then exit Siri in order to get the wiggling to stop.
Also, when on the search screen, pressing the home button doesn't return me to the home screen as with my i4 on 5.1.1.
Other than this, the home button works as expected. I am guessing this is a software issue. Anyone else have the same issues or is this a feature of iOS 6?

Will pressing the Home button really shut down app?
location:
ilounge.com - date:
July 25, 2008
I am asking because most of the people in this Japanese iPhone forum believe otherwise. They contend that the application "disappears" from the main screen but remains in the background when the Home button is pressed, and that you must hold down the Home button for a few seconds in order to shut the application down completely.
Knowing that folks here believe that pressing the Home button is (or should be) enough to shut down the application, I passed that opinion to them (i.e. those in the Japanese forum). One of them came back suggesting I do this.
1) Open Safari and display a Web site.
2) Press the Home button.
3) Open Safari again.
He says that Safari will open again without reloading the site. According to him, it must mean Safari was still running in the background. OTOH, he says, if you hold down the Home button for a few seconds in step (2), then Safari will reload the site when it reopens in step (3).

iPod Touch 4th Gen Home Button Does NOT Terminate App
location:
ilounge.com - date:
September 29, 2010
I got the new iPod Touch 4th Gen, and when I want to turn off an app, normally I would just press the home button and it would just turn off right? But for the 4th gen, it doesn't it just runs in the background. and that messes up my push notification system for my QQ and MSN messengers. Is there a way to terminate app on the 4th gen? or is there like something in settings, or another button?
HELP~
