Starbucks App, Passbook, and gift cards
location:

I've recently started going to Starbucks more and using Passbook because it is really convenient. I have a Starbucks card on the phone and when I use it I get stars for each purchase. I was just given a $50 gift card and curious...if I add this card to the Starbucks app/Passbook, will it still give me the reward stars? I guess I would add it under the "my cards" section.
Thanks everyone.

iTunes gift cards on App store?
location:
macrumors.com - date:
April 1, 2011
I'm a cash girl for the most part. I find it easier to manage my money when I see it go out of my hand, so I'm just now dipping my toes into the land of iOS. I just bought my first iPod (8g, 4th Gen Touch). And I'm LOVING it.
But, I'm now kind of confused. I hit Best Buy on the way home the other day and saw you can buy gift cards for both itunes and the app store. I looked on Apple's support page and they don't seem to make any distinction.
Its just that I would really just loathe to have dropped 50 bucks on credits that only let me buy from 1 face of the same store.
Does anyone know if iTunes makes a distinction between iTunes credits and App store credits? Or is this just a labeling difference thats supposed to clear things up for everyone?
(Just wanted to add, that this forum has been a fantastic help while I lurked and try to figure out what kind of device to join the Apple sandbox with. You're all amazingly helpful!

Apple Settles Lawsuit Over Children Making In-App Purchases with Gift Cards and Refunds
location:
modmyi.com - date:
February 25, 2013
Apple recently agreed to settle a lawsuit which was leveled by a group of parents who sued the Cupertino California company after their children spent large amounts of money on in-app purchases, with the company planning to dole out $5 iTunes gift cards, the same amount in cash, or a full refund if the initial charge was over $30.
This settlement brings an end to the suit which was originally filed in April of 2011which alleged Apple’s process of in-app purchases of being too easy for children to accrue fees on their parent’s credit cards. The plaintiffs in the case claimed their kids were buying game currencies without even realizing they were spending hundreds of dollars of real-world money. Most claims will end up receiving a $5 iTunes gift card or cash equivalent as noted by GigaOm.
The main cause of the issue were so-called “bait apps,” otherwise known as “f

Apple Debuts Passbook Enabled Gift Cards in Apple Store App
location:
modmyi.com - date:
November 11, 2012
Apple added Passbook enabled gift cards to the Apple Store app this weekend.
Apple announced the company would roll out the Passbook gift cards when they updated the App Store earlier this week. However, the cards were difficult to find and weren’t searchable from the App.
The gift cards themselves are still somewhat difficult to locate, but those searching for the new gift cards can find them by navigating to a featured gift card banner at the bottom of the Apple Store app’s homepage. The user can then choose digital certificates for physical Apple Stores or iTunes cards as well. The Apple Store cards can be delivered via snail mail or email, but the iTuens cards can only be delivered by mail.
Users receiving a digital copy of the new gift cards can either print the receipt

can't buy app with gift cards
location:
apple.com - date:
June 5, 2013
I am new to apple. I have $35 credit from app cards and itunes cards purchased at an Apple store. The app store will not allow me to purchase an app, and provides a prompt page which does not appear to allow payment via the 'apple money', but cites: "You must verify your payment information before you can make purchases." A series of credit card choices are provided. My apple account page confirms the $35 balance still... I'm wicked frusterated. I've spent 50 bucks with no actual product recieved yet. Does apple demand a credit card or debit card after taking debit payment in the store? That can't be... Please help, any help is appreciated.

Itunes gift cards in Mac App store?
location:
apple.com - date:

I received an itunes gift card for Christmas. I'm waiting to add it to my account to see if I can use it in or add it to the Mac App Store. Is that possible? Also, can the balance in itunes apply to both stores or will it be one big store after implementation? Thank you for your help.
