Does anyone have any idea when Apple will have one Global App store. In South Africa the apps available on the App Store are pathetic, eg. Angry Birds is not available to Iphone/ipad users here, however android users can purchase this app no problem.

If this continues, with the competition in the smart phone/android market, South Africans will start to can Apple devices due to the pathetic App Store for South Africa. The most popular games and Apps are not available here and until Apple get smart and make a Global Store for purchases not matter where you are in the world, Apple will continue to loose support. I have everything Apple, but am tired of the run around to try and buy good Apps.

I need a filter/layer app to dim my screen beyond the standard settings on my iPad 3, similar to the many apps in the Android app store that can dim the screen all the way to pitch black.

I would gladly pay for such an app but it does not exist as far as I can see. This renders my iPad useless to me in anything else but daylight since my eyes are very sensitive at the moment. Any suggestions on what to do? I've been thinking of putting something physical in front of the screen like a flash filter but haven't tried this out yet.

Cydia App similar to App Drawer in Android
location:
macrumors.com - date:

Is there an app in Cydia that is similar to the functionality of the App Drawer in Android? The one thing that I hate about iOS is that the only place you can put your apps is on one of the homescreens (or a folder on the homescreen). In Android, all of your apps go to an "app drawer" and you can then put the ones you want on your homescreen. And the apps that you hardly every use are alphabetized in the app drawer. Very similar to the Applications folder in OSX and the app shortcuts in the dock and desktop. Is there a way to do this with a jailbroken iPhone? Thanks.

Apple Rejects Android-centric App for the App Store
location:
modmyi.com - date:
November 29, 2010
Danish firm Mediaprovider has announced that its new app - a digital magazine presentation of all things Android - has been rejected for inclusion in the App Store by the people at Apple. It's a peculiar development, especially since Apple hasn't enforced a blanket policy effectively banishing all competing brands, operating systems, and smartphone makers from acknowledgment in the App Store. For example, "
Androidworld Reader" - an Android news application - has been available since April of this year.
Incredibly, however, Brian Dixen of Mediaprovider says his rejected app - Android Magasinet - was shot down primarily because it focuses exclusively on Android content. In the past, Dixen hasn't encountered any barricade to the App Store, especially with his ot
